Me & rivers aren't usually besties.
Because I have had several
occasions where the river and
I have been in a battle

One time while white water rafting
in Flaming Gorge, I fell out
of the raft and was drug around
like a rag doll, not my idea of fun.

So when invited to go Kayaking down in Southern Utah,
I was admittedly a bit hesitant...
flashbacks of me being thrown around
came to mind.

But I'm never one to let things end on a bad note.
I was determined to have a good experience.
Thanks to some fun friends who were experienced,
I had a blast kayaking for my first time.

We had a crazy thunderstorm within the first 20 minutes
of going down the river, but luckily,
we were able to pull over to the shore and wait it out.

Other than that it was smooth sailing!
We chatted it up & enjoyed the beautiful views
that the Green River offered.

Afterwards we went to the teeny-tiny town
of Green River for the most
amazing hamburgers at Ray's Tavern
followed by some ice-cream.

The day was perfect and the sunset that followed
on our way home was truly breathtaking.

So glad the river and I have made a mends.

ps. I'd like to add that there were sadly no pictures of us kayaking
because I don't own a water camera...but be assured, I was on a kayak!

  1. You are a brave soul! I don't think I would be able to show the same determination to conquer the river that you did! But it looks like it was a blast!
