Easter weekend

I was so happy to be home this Easter.
Last year was wonderful, but I was in L.A. visiting with a friend.
I missed having our annual family traditions that we've done year after year
with loads of food, Easter egg hunts with the kids,
and pictures of all the ladies and men by the ol' tree. 

 ^^Kicked the weekend off by decorating sugar cookies with these cute nieces and nephews of mine.

^^As you can see minimalism was not their theme...

Snowshoeing up Tibble Fork

 While the east coast has been mercilessly dumped on with snow, 

we here in the west have had such a warm winter. I'm talking 50's and 60's!

When I went snowshoeing with a friend a few weeks back 

we weren't sure my favorite spot would have snow.

Luckily it was high enough in the mountains that it had snow 

and were able to snowshoe. 

Snowshoeing is my jam. I'm terribly

afraid of heights and fast speed, so skiing just makes me

want to curl in the fetal position and cry...

perhaps someday I'll tackle that fear but for now snowshoeing it is.

Annual Family Halloween Bash

I'm a little late to the posting of Halloween photo's. I've been busy around

here with some travel, some hopeful job changes and just crazy life as usual.

A couple weekends ago was my family's annual Halloween party;

it's always a good time with lots of food, dancing and acting like goofs in our costumes.

Autumn Drive around Provo Canyon

One of my favorite things to do when the leaves start to change

is to pack some snacks, my camera, good music, good company

and head up the canyon for some beautiful foliage.

It was such a beautiful day last weekend when my cousin

and I went for a drive up Provo Canyon.  We explored, 

caught up on life and just took in the picture perfect scenery that surrounded us.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend was just what I needed, a mix of friends, family, 

getting away for a day, pool time, bbq's and a bit of shopping because I can't 

miss an opportunity for a good sale.

Early Saturday morning some girlfriends and I drove

to Wyoming for the Fort Bridger Rendezvous, you can read about it here. My friend Katie

is from Wyoming and her family has a tradition of having

loads of friends over to her parents house to eat delicious food prepared

by her mom who is an amazing cook and to then head over to the Rendezvous. This was my

third year going and it was just as fun and entertaining as I remembered in years past.

It's nice to just get away, even if for a day to the quiet country and have a minute to 

slow down and breathe it all in, which we did.

^^First corn-dog I've had in years, it was hand-dipped and delish!

On Monday we ended the end of summer and holiday weekend 

with a big bbq and pool party with my family.

We had a good time swimming and soaking up the sun before the

weather changes and we welcome the autumn weather, which

of course I'm also excited about!
