Family Holiday Part II

Alas I am finally getting around to posting
more on our SF family vacation.

The second part of our trip we headed to Stinson Beach and spent
hours playing in the sand and water,
exploring and soaking up the sun.

I love Stinson Beach because it's not too far from the
city, and the drive there {although a bit zig-zaggety} is
spectacular with the most breathtaking views.

The other days of our vacation we spent going to the city,
eating galore, trying out new restaurants, doing our tradition
of eating ice-cream at Ghirardelli's, going to the Jelly Belly
factory and just having fun hanging out with another.

Another successful Santamaria family reunion this year,
looking forward to the next one!

Let the games begin!

I'm a titch excited for the Summer Olympics for a few reasons...

It's amazing to see athletes from all over the world
competing in a sport they are so passionate about,
I get all emotional every time I see an athlete's
national anthem played after they've won.
I'm thrilled to watch some good television instead
of the usual reality crap that I sometimes get sucked into {uh-hum...Kardashian's},
and it's in one of my favorite,
most memorable{I studied there for a semester}cities
in the world!!

Let the games begin!

That lovely thing we call time.

Life has been extremely busy lately.
To the point where I want to pull my hair out.

I've always been known to bite off more than I can chew.
Some may call that overly confident, I'm starting to call it plain stupid.
I need to say no more often than I do, and be comfortable with it.
I'm getting better at it, but it's a process.

Last week I felt like I was being pulled in 5 million directions.
Family stuff, friend stuff, work stuff, boy stuff, church stuff,
the house hadn't been cleaned, grocery shopping went out the door {so I was eating out galore},
piles of laundry, post-it notes, lack of sleep, exercise
You get the picture right?
I was exhausted, I finally hit my wall.
ENOUGH.

I took some time out to reflect and thought,
am I actually enjoying living like this?
Nope.

Not to say that I'm not a generally happy person, because I am
happy, but if I keep trying to be wonder-woman I won't be anymore.
So I have decided there needs to be a healthy balance by
stating more what I can and can't do, making sure I'm
doing what truly brings me joy daily, being true to me and not stressing the small stuff.

Easier said than done right.
But it's a new week with new goals,
and new accomplishments & there is
great comfort and solace in that alone.

I always say, if I could buy more time,
I'd be their #1 customer.
Since buying more time will never be an option,
I am sticking to my simplifying goals.

I'm feeling much better just typing this long post out.
Alright over & out.

Family Holiday Part I

Sunday evening after eating dinner
we went to watch the sunset on the Sonoma coast.
It was breathtaking in every way possible.
We all sat around chatting and admiring every second of that sunset.

The next day we headed to the quant town of Sausalito
across the bay from San Francisco.
We walked around, stopped off to eat
some pastries and then went to
their town square.

From there we headed to
Stinson beach...more on that fun later though!
