Over the weekend some friends and I hit the road and headed south to warmer weather.

I love road trips. Something about getting in the car and driving to a new destination is so rejuvenating to me.

A sum of some great memories:

Singing at the top of our lungs in the car. Bear Paw breakfast in St. George. Walking the temple grounds. Hand stands in the pool. H&M in Vegas. Yogurtland. More pool time. Angels Landing hike.

Listening to these boys singing on our way home might have been my favorite part of the weekend, I think Justin Bieber might have some competition{shhh...they don't know I recorded them}.

Gnocchi Dinner Party

This past weekend some friends and I had a little dinner party at my place.

We made gnocchi, one of my favorite Italian dishes. I have such fond memories of making these little delicious potato dumplings with my grandparents.

My grandfather was Italian and he shared his heritage with us by making fresh gnocchi's, ravioli's and other great dishes.

I didn't realize when I was young how lucky and spoiled I was to be eating such fine cuisine.

Eating gnocchi Saturday night brought back some great memories.

Asian?

Yesterday my teacher mistook me for an 'Asian'.

Her words:

"Today I started to review your final with the wrong girl. I thought it was you. She had your same hair color, same build and was Asian like you."

I tried with all my might to not laugh. I didn't correct her in telling her that I wasn't Asian. I couldn't muster the words.

It's all good though. No offense taken on my part. I think Asian's are lovely.

I will just put that on my list of ethnicities I have been mistaken for.

Playing photographer.

A few days ago I got to do something I love to do, take pictures.

My brother had hired a photographer to take him and his wife's photos. They weren't too pleased with the finished product so they asked me to help them out.

Now I am no professional-this much I am very well aware of. I just have developed a love for photography over the past few years. So when they asked me to snap a few photo's of them, I was truly honored and excited.

I still am a work in progress, as you can see. But how I wish I could spend all day exploring new places in the world and snapping away.

One day...

Gourmandise

Saturday I went to sweet's heaven aka Gourmandise bakery in SLC.
There were so many pastries to choose from, my mouth kept salivating.

I finally decided on the decadent 'porcupine' pastry. It was filled with chocolate ganache, raspberry, cream, and almonds--how could that not be delicious, I ask?

I am devising a plan of when I'll head up there again...who's coming with me?

Perseverance

The heights by great men reached and kept,

Were not attained by sudden flight,

But they, while their companions slept,

Were toiling upward in the night.

Easter Weekend

Easter was lovely as always.

Listened to conference.
Family time.
Ate to my heart's content(the treadmill will be seeing more of me today than usual).
Egg hunt.
Pictures by the tree.
Laughter.
Stories around the table with some herbal tea.
The yummiest sugar cookies with lots o' frosting.

I was a happy girl.
