Happy long weekend...

Happy long weekend everyone! I'm thrilled Memorial Day weekend is here.
It always marks the start of Summer for me and that is beyond exciting.
I'll be moving most of the weekend, not far, but I loathe moving. I am
the type that likes to get everything done and organized right away or else I can't rest.
So no doubt I'll be moving today and tomorrow and possibly into the holiday, but
at least there is light at the end of the tunnel. On Tuesday I fly out to NYC
for a little reunion with some dear girlfriends. So that will be my reward after
hauling boxes up and down stairs. Life's always a balancing act!

Have a wonderful long weekend and here's to hoping r&r is on the books for you!

Laguna Beach

Our last day in California we decided to head south to Laguna Beach
to meet up with a friend and her darling daughter. When we
got to Laguna we immediately asked ourselves why in the world we
didn't spend more time here than just one afternoon. It's just gorgeous.
A beautiful, charming and artsy town literally right
on the coast. The water is a magnificent aqua color and the
quaintness of it all makes you wish you could spend weeks there. I would
love to retire in a place like Laguna. One can dream right?
Next time I'm making a point to stay here for a full weekend to
soak up some sun and relax on that beach with a fish taco.
^^Those long stretch of beaches are calling my name.

Mother's Day

{My mom is the beauty on the right}
Yesterday day being Mother's Day it got me
all reflective on all the countless hours my mom has
spent raising me, lifting my spirits, listening to me
cry, be excited, complain throughout every single
stage of my life from kindergarten into adulthood.
If you really stop and think about that it's truly amazing.
Someone that has seen you through your best and worst,
and through every awkward and exciting stage of your life.

It's no wonder there is a day dedicated to Mother's,
because they are amazing women that day in and day out
are there for you, even when they're tired themselves.
I believe parenting is such a sacred role, one that not I even
will truly understand until one day I am in that role.

To my darling mom, she deserves it all. She has been the best role
model for me with her big heart, her quiet acts of kindness, her
delicious cooking and baking, her grace and her love for God and her family.

Mom, I'll be happy if I get to be half as awesome as you one day.
Love you now, always, and forever.

What my purse looks like...inside.

I was reading A Cup of Jo and saw that they were doing a question series once a month illustrated
by Emily McDowell. Last month was this one. I couldn't help but chuckle to myself
because the inside of my purse looks quite a bit like this one, with some similar items from this illustration. Usually my purse is too large for its own good, and that means I stuff it chuck full of more
than is ever necessary. What interesting things are inside your purse?
Hopefully one day I'll become a minimalist!

Happy weekending!
