Sweet Reunions

Last week was reunion after reunion in my family and it has been so much fun! I've had cousins fly in, brothers home from a mission and another brother and his family back from an internship. We've had fun doing what we do best, talking and eating. I love reunions, they remind me of what I have to look forward to in the next life.

My family was the loudest and most obnoxious family at the airport...typical! Please note my mom in this video, she clogged the escalator once again; she was just so excited she couldn't contain herself, too funny.

Greetings

I think we could all agree that this looks like an awkward moment of our former President Bush about to hug someone. Each country has their own way of greeting. Here in the USA people high five, they do the half hug with the pat on the back,(that's my favorite one to witness among men)there's full on hugging, and sometimes there's a kiss on the cheek. In different European countries there is the hug and two kisses on each cheek and even three kisses depending on which country you are in. In South America it is customary when greeting people to give a hug and a kiss on the cheek. I grew up doing this. If I walk into my parents house, I give my mom and dad a hug and a kiss. If there are family, friends, or strangers there, I do the same thing. It would be considered rude for me to not do this. I am so used to doing this that it is second nature to me. The other day I was meeting some new people out of the family circle and I realized something. I had to stop myself from giving them a hug and a kiss on the cheek. That's when it hit me. I think sometimes I am culturally confused! If next time I see you, I give you a hug and a kiss on the cheek, just go with the flow and please excuse the confusion.

Happy Feet

There are a couple things in life that will always make me giddy, which are obviously kissing and shoes! I can count on endorphin heaven after these two things happen to me. The other day I heard angels singing as my eyes stumbled across these high heels. I tried them on and I knew they had to come home with me. They fit like a glove and when I was walking in them at the store I felt like a sexy new lady. Would there be any reason to not purchase them? I think not. They have found a new home in my closet, welcome my little golden gems!

Majestic Mountains

I am always looking for an excuse to travel anywhere and everywhere. But sometimes I have to stop and take a look at the amazing location I live in. I think Utah has some of the most beautiful mountains I have seen before. I have seen the Andes mountains in South America and mountains in other countries; but I am still in awe every time I go for a drive or hike up the canyon at how majestic Utah mountains are. Yesterday I hiked to Stewart Falls up Provo canyon and couldn't stop snapping pictures. The weather was rainy, but that didn't stop us from going. There was a mist in the air and my hiking buddy and I agreed it was much better than having the hot sun beating down on us. I am excited and looking forward to many more hikes this year!
