My love/hate relationship with Math!

This is me before I begin to do math homework, happy, skipping along and enjoying life... I open my math book and start to look at equations such as this one... and I start to feel like this aaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

Get the picture? Yeah me and Mr. Math do not get along so great. In fact I would say that Mr. Math and I have a rocky, dysfunctional relationship. When I actually understand the concepts and it's all flowing we get along splendidly. But that is a rare occasion. For the most part I don't get math. It's like someone is speaking a different language to me, and I am so LOST!! It is extremely frustrating because, as many of you know, this lovely class is my one and only class left before I am officially graduated. I am not a quitter and I am not giving up, I will graduate, but it's just taken a bit longer than I expected, so I'm getting anxious. I wish I were more left brained like all the math lab people. But instead I was blessed with a very right brain. My mind thinks in images, feelings, etc. Which is probably why when I go to the math lab, I am more concerned with looking at people's outfits and what would look better on them. I have to repeatedly say to myself, "Bev, it does not matter that they have high waters on, you are here to do Math!" If there was a left brained pill, I would buy it in an instant, but until then, me and my very right brain will make the best of it!

  1. Did I ever tell you about when I'd go to the math lab with another girl in my class (who was just as dumb as me), and the smarty-pants Asian math lab aids would get so frustrated with us that they threw her calculator across the room?

    Math blows.

  2. Yay! You have a blog. That's not a yay for math though. I hated those classes at UV. Good luck. Also, I'm not going to stop bugging you about Honduras. Nate's friend is coming into town this weekend and we wanted to try to do a little planning. You need to come. It will be so fun.

  4. Bev!!! I am so happy you found me! And even happier you have a blog. Already I love your blog, thanks to this hilarious post. I HATE MATH! There is nothing that makes me feel more stupid. But you make me feel better with the whole right/left brain concept.

Can't wait to read the rest of your blog! Mind if I add a link to yours on mine?
