That's the fam circa probably 1979-1980 ish,
no clue what I'm trying to stuff in my mouth...
not much has changed, loved food then, love it now.
Anyway with it being Mother's Day on Sunday
I couldn't let it slide by without
saying a few words about my mom.
I adore this lady, and I'd say
we have the typical mother/daughter relationship.
Without words, I know when she disapproves
or approves of me, she's a typical latin
woman, blunt and honest.
I was raised here in the states,
needless to say we've butted heads on her brutal
honesty many a times.
But nonetheless I wouldn't change her for anything.
She laughs with me, cries with me,
is my biggest fan, has taught me
to love unconditionally, taught me to
work hard, to clean well, to cook and bake,
to be humble and be kind and generous.
If I grow up to be half the woman she is,
I think I'll have accomplished something good
in this lifetime.
Here's a few snaps from Mother's Day dinner,
the men in the family cooked quite the feast!
The menu included:
{BBQ'd meats, corn on the cob, watermelon, potato salad,
salads, fresh homemade bread, grilled & glazed pineapple,
and an oreo/brownie/mint ice-cream cake}
Yeowza these guys weren't messing around!
Gorgeous tribute to your mami!
ReplyDeleteThe men in your family really go big or go home. That meal sounds divine.
